It all started in high school when I found out one of my friends
was being forced into child marriage. The idea of a bright,
promising future being cut short felt like a punch to the gut. It
wasn’t just her story—it was a harsh reality for so many young
girls around me.
I couldn’t just stand by. I began speaking up in class, sharing
these stories, and soon small discussions grew into a movement. We
organized, researched, and took action to raise awareness and
challenge harmful traditions. and show that young people could
make a difference.
That was the beginning of Speak Out Youth—a movement that started
with a simple conversation in class and grew into a platform for
youth-led change on a much larger scale.
